Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American and Canadian musician and singer. Her catalog includes more than 20 albums. DiFranco classifies her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. But it contains influences such as hip-hop, punk and jazz. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as a feminist icon and Grammy-winning artist is considered the founder of DIY music. She was one of the first musicians to launch the label she created in the year 90. DiFranco was born on the 23rd of September 1970 in Buffalo, New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who came across Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was Italian origin and her mother came originally from Montreal. Ani Difrasco composed and recorded the song "32 Flavors". It is a track from her album from 1995 Not a Pretty Girl, that was her sixth studio album. The soundtrack to 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a version of the song. DiFranco has since apologized after it was revealed that she was hosting a 3-day workshop in an Louisiana ex-slave plantation.
