She's reported on sports at many of the top media outlets across the world. She covered football, basketball and Grand Slam Tennis for The Washington Post. Nichols began a nine year stint at ESPN where she was awarded two Emmy Awards, and featured on a number of the network's best programs like NFL Countdown and SportsCenter. Her Monday Night Football coverage as the team's reporter was an integral an integral part of her job at the network. The next step was CNN and Turner Sports. The first show she created and hosted was her own show, Unguarded featuring Rachel Nichols, and aired every week on CNN as well as CNN International. Over a billion viewers watched the show worldwide. Nichols was employed by TNT as a broadcaster who reported on NBA games, including regular season, playoffs as well as All Star shows. Also, she has worked at TBS in the capacity of a journalist covering baseball and golf broadcasts. CBS broadcasted the Final Four. It was only the 2nd time in its 42-year history that a woman was chosen from over 200 nominations.
