Summer glau

Firefly was Whedon's next popular show and it's safe to say that she made an impact. In Summer Glau's role, River Tam was a complicated character which Glau did well. Tam in the film, as her character from the film was named, was the subject of government experiments that were designed to create her into a perfect assassin. Tam was unable to regulate her emotions, as a result. Glau's skills in combat were displayed on Firefly. Glau's training as an assassin provided her with the chance to utilize the full range of athletic skills she has. Summer Glau has been a ballerina from the age of an infant. She also has the study of flamenco and tango but it was a broken toe that ended her dancing career. Firefly only lasted one season, but the show garnered a large fan following. Whedon was so passionate about it that he returned back to the show several years afterward. In the meantime though, Summer Glau continued to get some quality work. Her appearances on television programs like Cold Case and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
